Thought you might like to meet the feline in my pack since most of you already know Oz and Bentley.

On June 25th 2011 I first met the adorable white ball of fur we call “Kirby”. At the time she resembled a white zombie hamster, stumbling around or dragging herself where she needed to go and occasionally giving out high pitched squeals when she was hungry or cold. A few weeks later she was darting around the room at breakneck speeds like a white fluffy ball of lightning. We weren’t going to keep her, the plan was to look after the kittens until they were old enough, spay mom, and then find them all a home. That was the plan. We weren’t expecting her to grow into a mind blowingly cute ball of fluff with a face that could melt even the coldest of hearts. I swear, this kitten could take over the world if she could speak. And so, when the new owners came to pick out their kitten from the litter I told them all that she “Already had a home” (much to the dismay of my boyfriend at the time). And so, we ended up with Kirby, named after the happy-go-lucky pink puff ball character who goes on epic quests to save the world. She’s weird (being raised by a pack of dogs will do that to a cat) she drools when she purrs, she chases her tail neurotically, plays with the dogs, likes her belly rubbed, and enjoys sleeping on the floor with the rest of the ‘pack’. But I love her, and she’s always there to squish and cuddle when the going gets tough! Here she is over the years, along with her list of ridiculous nick names:

Kirb Kirbs, Kirby Kitty, The Kirbs, Cuddlebums, Snuggamuffin, Fuzzybutt, Chaps (She looks like she’s wearing pants from behind), Pants, Furball, Hairball, Kitty Softpaws, White Lightning .

What’s the most ridiculous nick name you have for YOUR pet? I’d love to hear some and the stories that go with them!
