So last Monday I took that step that everyone takes at that point in their lives, getting a dog. Not just ANY dog but YOUR dog, not the family’s dog, not you’re parent’s dog, but your very own dog. We looked for a long time and finally brought home Bently, a 6 month old Blue Heeler that just needed more space to run and since I spend most of my day at the barn riding horses it seemed like a perfect fit! Not a week later we got offered to take a family members Australian Shepherd named Oz. So not just one dog, but two, and 3 if you count our room mates adorable puppy.

The thing I noticed about dogs though is that they are ALWAYS happy. They are always happy to see us, they love car rides, they love any food we put in front of them, they live in the moment, they are ecstatic when they get to chase something so simple as a squirrel… We should start being more like them, they’re obviously doing something right. So from now on I’m gonna smile at everything, look for the simple things in life that make me happy, live for today, and be excited about every new friend I meet, oh, and maybe stick my head out the window once in a while…
